Project: Newspaper Ad

Working as a graphic artist for a newspaper has taught me apprecaite two things in particular: color and space. Color was something I didn't think I would miss as much as I do. A good ad does the same job with or without it, but when it's used correctly, well, it's the cherry on top. And as for space, it is sometimes nice to know that you have a set size and that's it. But it's not nice when you have a ton of copy to cram in and you're left with no room for any sort of imagery let alone a fancy border.

There isn't anything particularly fancy about this ad and that's why it works. The font is one I try to avoid — arial, blah. But it doesn't distract and it's various weights and the usual stylings give just enough options. The image was acquired from their web site and moves the eye around back into the ad.
